About Environmental Resources

The environment is all encompassing and surrounds each and every one of us, but unfortunately this LibGuide (nor any other) can truly encompass all of the resources that document the environment, but I hope that you will find these environmental resources useful. Although useful to anyone looking for environmental resources, this guide does have some items specifically selected for University of Missouri students, faculty, and staff.

  • Environmental Defense Fund
They work to solve environmental problems across disciplines and with diverse groups of people.
  • Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
The Environmental Protection Agency is an agency within the United States Government. Their mission is to protect human health and the environment.
  • Natural Resources Defense Council
NRDC works to safeguard the earth — its people, its plants and animals, and the natural systems on which all life depends.
  • Sierra Club
Founded by conservationist John Muir in 1892, the Sierra Club is now the nation's largest grassroots environmental organization.
The Stop Global Warming Virtual March is a non-political effort to declare that global warming is here now and it’s time to act.
  • The Nature Conservancy
Their mission is to conserve the lands and waters on which all life depends.
  • The WIlderness Society
American conservation organization working to protect our nation’s shared wildlands.
